Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) Testing in Riverside CA
John M. Olin, a widely recognized philanthropist, sportsman, industrialist, conservationist, and inventor, founded the private, non-profit Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) in 1966.
Olin was a field trial participant and dedicated hunter and sportsman. When one of his dogs experienced hip dysplasia, he gathered veterinary representatives, the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, and the Golden Retriever Club of America to discuss canine hip dysplasia testing and the limitations of this disease. This meeting led to the development of the OFA with a mission to provide genetic counseling, data management, and radiographic evaluation in the form of Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) testing.
OFA testing for breeders is still available in Riverside, CA, today, but the mission has changed. The organization now aims to improve the well-being and health of companion animals by reducing genetic diseases of all types. The organization has expanded to cover other inherited diseases and cats

You will need to bring your registry certificate (if applicable) and the pet MUST be microchipped (we can microchip at the appointment if needed).
